Mercury Solar Systems Completes Several New Solar Energy System Installations in the New York Metro Area

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury Solar Systems, Inc., one of the leading solar integrators in the Northeast, and its sister company Energy Enterprises, Inc., both subsidiaries of Aquus Energy, Inc., today announced the completion of several recent installations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Jared Haines, President, Mercury Solar Systems, said, "The interest level in solar has grown exponentially over the past several years and since the creation of the Federal Grant Program for Renewable Energy Projects, we have experienced a tremendous amount of activity on both the commercial and residential side of the business. The incentives are the most lucrative we have seen, offering our customers Federal cash rebates or credits plus state incentives in New York and New Jersey. These incentives are a win-win for consumers who are environmentally conscious but need the additional financial assistance to move forward with a solar energy system purchase. We anticipate this level of activity to continue as President Obama continues his pledge to finance renewable energy projects."

Recent commercial solar installations include:

Connecticut

HoneyCell, Inc. (Shelton, CT): A 200kW system was installed on the corporate offices of this local manufacturer of kraft paper honeycomb, the first commercial solar installation in Shelton.

Wee Burn Country Club (Darien, CT): The 85.5kW system represents the first solar installation on a country club in the state of Connecticut.

New York

Solomon Schechter Upper & Lower Schools (Hartsdale, NY): The Jewish day school installed a 50kW solar energy system on each of its upper and lower school campus buildings. Solomon Schechter is one of a few select schools in Westchester County, NY to install a solar energy system.

Bella Vista Holiday Spa (Westtown, NY): A 21kW system was installed at this premiere day spa in Orange County, NY.

Larchmont Department of Public Works (Larchmont, NY): The 6.4kW solar system was installed in conjunction with the New York Power Authority and is the first solar installation on a public building in the Village of Larchmont.

New Jersey

CPI Companies (Voorhees, NJ): The diversified company specialized in providing services for life insurance, investments and life settlements installed a 38.6kW solar energy system on its corporate headquarters.

Guardian Self Storage (Tuckahoe, NJ): The local storage company installed a 35.2kW solar energy system at its facility, representing the first solar installation in Tuckahoe.

A.E. Stone (Pleasantville, NJ): A 26.4kW system was installed at this progressive, community-minded paving company.

Rahel Rosner, Chief Operating Officer, Solomon Schechter, said, "Mercury Solar Systems was integral in helping us secure the funding for our recent solar initiative. With a grant from New York State and the for-profit partner in the project that Mercury Solar Systems arranged for us, we were able to offset more than seventy-five percent of the $500,000 solar energy system cost. We look forward to working with Mercury Solar Systems this summer as they install our third solar energy system."

Since its founding in 2006, Mercury Solar Systems has been rapidly expanding its commercial and residential solar electric and solar thermal energy systems businesses, completing close to 1,000 installations of varying sizes throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. In the first quarter of 2009, Mercury Solar Systems' Mays Landing, New Jersey and New Rochelle, NY offices installed 34 residential solar energy systems totaling more than 210kW of solar energy systems.

"We recently had Sun Power solar panels installed on our building in Voorhees, NJ by Energy Enterprises," said Ron Sussman, CEO, CPI Companies. "We are extremely happy with the installation, and anticipate eliminating virtually our entire electric bill with the output from our system. Energy Enterprises provided professional and knowledgeable service pre-sale as well as an excellent installation experience. The combination of state and federal financial incentives and Energy Enterprises' top-shelf services makes the decision to go solar easy and extremely rewarding."
