FRESNO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Solar Universe, Inc., announced that it has executed a franchise agreement with SVW Suncorp, Inc., a joint venture with Valley Unique Electric, The Fresno-based operation will become the fifth Solar Universe franchise partner operating in CA, serving the greater central valley.
“We are excited about adding a veteran team of skilled electricians to our network, as it provides an opportunity to better serve the central valley market and meet its growing solar needs,” said Joe Bono, president of Solar Universe, Inc.
According to Solar Universe research, government data and other industry sources, growth in US solar demand could increase by over 40 percent in 2009, “particularly areas like the central valley where the cost of electricity is high, the government incentives are attractive and there exists heightened environmental awareness,” said Bono.
As the global economic crisis lingers the billion dollar-plus alternative energy industry is positioned for a boom as tax credits, the green movement, and technology come together to provide the right incentives for consumers and businesses to go solar.
The federal ITC tax credit makes all Americans eligible for a 30 percent federal tax credit on solar technology. That’s in addition to individual state tax credits and rebates, which are as high as 25 percent in regions like California.
As a long-time central valley resident, Jamey Vumback, president of SVW Suncorp, is pleased to be involved in a business that makes good economic sense and helps create environmental citizens. “Solar is the bright spot in this economy,” said Vumback. “Solar energy has never been more affordable.” By installing solar, homes and businesses can convert natural sunlight into electricity and save money by directing excess electricity onto the grid, and crediting the electric bill. “Fix your cost of energy, protect the environment and improve your property value… why wouldn’t you go solar?” said Vumback.
