EVSO Inks Partnering Agreement with GENNX-Tech & Barber-Scotia College

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Evolution Solar Corp. (PinkSheets:EVSO) announced today that the company inked a partnering agreement with GENNX Technologies, Inc. and Barber-Scotia College to enhance the curriculum for the school’s energy institute.
  
One aspect of the new curriculum will center on student participation in a solar demonstration project planned for the Barber-Scotia College (BSC) campus in Concord, N.C., home of GENNX-Tech’s Green IT and Technology Program. BSC students will gain valuable hands-on training by helping to install an array of high-efficiency solar panels designed to help reduce energy costs on the campus. The green technology students will assist Evolution Solar and GENNX-Tech engineers in the design and construction of the project.

“This project will be designed to introduce the next generation of photovoltaic solar technology to the next generation of green-energy professionals,” said Robert Hines, President of EVSO. “This partnership allows us to influence the future of tech education in North Carolina as well as show off our solar products to these students as well as current and future commercial clients.”

According to the agreement, Evolution Solar will contribute industry knowledge and expertise to GENXX-Tech’s Solar Training Program at BSC to better prepare students to achieve certification in the field. The company will supply the solar panels and accessory equipment—including rack-mount system, power inverter, control box and wiring mechanisms—necessary for the training installation. GENNX technicians, BSC students and interns will assist with the demonstration’s construction and completion.

BSC is providing the real estate for the demo project in order to enhance the school’s solar curriculum and market the Barber-Scotia College Energy Institute. The college plans to seek a net metering agreement with its local energy provider in hopes of one day selling energy produced by the solar installation back to the power grid.

“Not only will this project offer students hands-on experience with leading-edge technology, it should also help lower BSC’s energy bill and open up funding opportunities for the university,” Hines said.

Hines said that EVSO anticipates that solar demonstrations such as the BSC project will help the company acquire new projects in a sector that is growing to compete in the energy industry, which contains First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR), Constellation Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: CEG), Progress Energy Inc. (NYSE: PGN) and ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM).
