CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoCore Energy has hired Julie Hextell as its chief operating officer, giving the former Constellation NewEnergy chief marketing officer and senior vice president responsibility for developing and executing growth strategies for the award winning solar power developer.
SoCore, which provides solar installations to Fortune 500 companies, municipalities, schools and REITs, selected Hextell for her experience building and scaling Constellation NewEnergy from startup to maturity, as well as her proven expertise in strategic business development. Hextell, a 44-year old former litigator, helped grow Constellation NewEnergy into the national retail electric market leader.
“As markets evolve, we want to continue to offer customers a meaningful suite of products and services that help them to achieve their renewable energy goals. Julie has proven experience in customer, product and segment strategies and a deep understanding of the market. She is the ideal executive to grow and scale SoCore Energy,” noted Pete Kadens, SoCore president. “We expect Julie’s leadership to launch SoCore’s next phase of expansion.”
SoCore Energy was recognized last month with a Chicago Innovation Award for its game-changing approaches that make solar systems financially viable for corporate customers. Prior Innovation Award winners include Motorola, Threadless.com, Flashpoint and CNT Energy.
SoCore’s modular SunLock system allows systems to be disassembled, reconfigured or moved to another location as needed. Designed for flat roofs, SunLock’s non-penetrating design means that roof warranties are not compromised, which can be a critical consideration for businesses that lease space.
SoCore’s Solar Rental Service offers flexible, short-term rental agreements with no upfront costs that allow businesses interested in solar energy to easily begin garnering its benefits. SoCore also provides maintenance, monitoring and energy services to its customers.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to work for a company that is providing real innovation to the renewable energy market,” Hextell said. “The SoCore team focuses on customers and how to create meaningful solutions for businesses, who will lead the drive to a vibrant renewable energy future.”
Hextell is a graduate of Loyola University and received her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.
