SHANGHAI, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd. ("Solarfun" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: SOLF), a vertically integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers and photovoltaic ("PV") cells and modules in China, today announced it has received Microgeneration Certification Scheme's ("MCS") certification for its SF160 monocrystalline and SF190 and SF220 polycrystalline modules. The MCS certification enables U.K. customers and resellers to utilize Solarfun's modules for reliable electricity generation.
MCS uses a rigorous set of standards to certify technologies that produce electricity and heat from renewable resources. Testing criteria included module performance, as well as assessment of Solarfun's manufacturing processes, materials, procedures and staff training.
"The MCS certificate for our monocrystalline and polycrystalline modules is an important accomplishment," noted Dr. Mohan Narayanan, Vice President of Technology at Solarfun. "This achievement reflects Solarfun's commitment to creating high-quality, reliable photovoltaic modules through cutting edge technology and equipment."
The SF160 monocrystalline module's versatility, high efficiency and compact design make it ideal for residential and commercial applications, while the polycrystalline SF190 and SF220 modules offer the high power output required for utility applications.
