NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GoSolarUSA (PinkSheets: GSLO) today announced that the company filed a U.S. patent application for the Volt Solar Charger.
The Volt Solar Charger is the only iPhone battery pack known to GSLO that is compatible with all versions of the Apple iPhone. The device attaches to the iPhone and extends its battery life using a 1500 mAh battery and a top-of-the-line, built-in solar panel.
As the Volt nears its introduction into the American marketplace, GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde said Tuesday that filing an application with the U.S. Patent Office will serve to protect the company’s intellectual property rights.
“Filing this patent application is an important step in bringing the Volt Solar Charger to market,” Rohde said. “We anticipate that this filing will protect our proprietary technology and dissuade potential competitors from copying our design.”
GSLO approved a sample batch of the solar-powered iPhone accessories earlier this month from Xiamen Solar Electronics (XSE), the Chinese developer of the Volt. Last month, GSLO signed a distribution agreement with XSE that provides GoSolarUSA with the exclusive right to sell and distribute the Volt in North America, the world’s largest market for iPhone accessories.
GoSolarUSA is currently preparing the Volt for its North American market launch. Manufactured in red, black and white, the Volt will soon go on sale bundled with a one-year warranty. Those interested in purchasing the Volt can currently make a reservation using GSLO’s Volt Waiting List at http://www.gosolarusa.com/technology/volt-reservation.html
GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The Volt Solar Charger is a product of Xiamen Solar Electronics based in Xiamen, China. The iPhone is a product of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), which competes in the global mobile electronics market against Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: MMI) and Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM).

It's about time they did something meaningful. GSLO went up 50% based on this news - imagine how much it will go up if they actually sell something!
