Inovateus Solar Relies on AET's Rayport™ Mounting System for Detroit's Largest Rooftop Array Installed at the BlueCross and BlueShield Campus

DETROIT, Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Energy Technologies (AET), a leading global provider of PV mounting solutions, is pleased to announce the utilization of AET's Rayport Stainless Series Roof Ballast Rack for DTE's installation of a 200 kW system at the BlueCross and BlueShield Campus in Detroit.

Comprised of 936 Schott 235 Watt solar panels and covering 28,000 square feet, the PV array is the largest rooftop system in the city of Detroit. NOVA Consultants, Inc., the contractor for DTE, performed the design engineering and layout of the solar PV array and selected Inovateus Solar to supply the solar panels, inverters and the AET Rayport™ mounting system. Industry-leading installation times and universal solar panel support were critical factors in Inovateus Solar's decision to use AET's racking solution.

"We really enjoy working with the team at AET," says Peter Rienks, Project Manager at Inovateus Solar. "The project went together smoothly and working with intelligent engineers and designers at AET was very refreshing. The Rayport™ system was the perfect solution for BCBS."

The solar system generates power equivalent to what is typically consumed by 40 homes in a year. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is among the first organizations in Michigan to participate in DTE's SolarCurrents program.
