Cogenra Solar to Speak on Advantages of Solar Cogeneration at IDEA’s 25th Annual Campus Energy Conference
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cogenra Solar®, a provider of distributed solar cogeneration systems and renewable energy service solutions, will be speaking at the International District Energy Association’s (IDEA) 25th Annual Campus Energy Conference. Cogenra CEO Dr. Gilad Almogy will discuss the benefits that facility managers and energy professionals can derive from solar cogeneration in the presentation “Solar Cogeneration Systems Maximize Energy Harvest, Producing Hot Water from Waste Heat of Photovoltaic” on February 7, 2012. Dr. Almogy was part of a select group chosen to speak at this year’s conference, which focuses on “Innovations in Clean Energy” in the campus and institutional environment.
Dr. Almogy will highlight an installation at the University of Arizona to illustrate how Cogenra’s solar cogeneration systems maximize energy harvest and optimize savings for energy-intensive facilities including campuses, hospitals, military facilities, and multi-tenant housing. Similar to traditional cogeneration, or Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Cogenra’s technology generates both electricity and hot water, but with clean, renewable energy.
University of Arizona is utilizing a roof-mounted solar cogeneration array on a student dormitory to provide electricity and hot water for daily uses, such as laundry, showers and lighting. Cogenra’s hybrid solution has also been adopted by an assisted living facility, a corporate campus and the Department of Defense, among others.
