SAN FRANCISCO, CA --(eSolarEnergyNews)-- Sunrun, the largest dedicated residential solar company in the U.S., today announced it has begun offering affordable solar service to homeowners in additional California markets, including Anaheim, Glendale, Palo Alto and Pasadena. With the expansion, Sunrun continues to meet the state's growing consumer demand for home solar while delivering high customer satisfaction. Later this month, Sunrun also expects to expand its service to homeowners serviced by municipal power companies in Lodi, Modesto, Riverside, and Roseville.
"With electricity rates in California consistently climbing over the past decade, it's no surprise Californians are looking for ways to lower their electric bills," said Ethan Miller, senior vice president of operations at Sunrun. "By expanding to more regions, Sunrun will be able to help more of the state's homeowners get solar and save money on their bills."
California is the country's leader in home solar adoption, accounting for more than 50 percent of residential solar installations nationwide, according to the 2014 U.S. Solar Market Insight Report by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and GTM Research. With more than 315,000 solar homes in California already, Sunrun's newly announced expansion into additional state regions will continue to support statewide and overall industry growth.
"Sunrun is available to nearly 90 percent of California homeowners already, and this new development is another step towards full market availability," added Miller.
As the first company to introduce solar as a service to American homeowners, Sunrun has reinvented the way people buy electricity. Sunrun gives homeowners access to the smartest energy source – sunlight – and takes care of everything so families can focus on more important things, like putting savings back in their pockets each month.
