Enphase Energy Integrates Socket Barcode Scanner Into Apple® iPhone® Based Solution for Solar Panel Installation and Tracking

NEWARK, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2012) -  Socket Mobile, Inc. (OTCQB: SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announced that Enphase Energy -- a manufacturer of microinverter technology for the solar industry with more than 44,000 installations around the world -- has incorporated the Socket Bluetooth® Cordless Hand Scanner™ (CHS) 7Xi barcode scanner into its ArrayGun mobile solution for solar panel installation. Enphase is demonstrating the solution this week at Solar Power International 2012 in Orlando, Fla., in Booth #2515.

Enphase microinverters are semiconductor-based solar panel components that provide remote monitoring of energy harvesting performance through the Enlighten web-based platform. In order for technicians to view performance, diagnose issues or pinpoint maintenance needs on a module-by-module basis, the serial number and location of each microinverter must be recorded during solar panel installation. The new ArrayGun installer toolkit solution enables installers to quickly and accurately scan and connect large numbers of microinverters using the CHS 7Xi and an iPhone or iPod touch® running the Enphase Installer Toolkit app.

"We designed the ArrayGun to help solar installers reduce their time on the roof and help drive productivity using the latest iOS user-friendly technology," said Bill Rossi, Chief Marketing Officer of Enphase Energy. "We are excited to partner with Socket Mobile to offer both our residential and commercial customers this important time-saving tool that syncs to our Enlighten monitoring software."

"Field service is a primary market for our mobile solutions, and the Enphase ArrayGun solution demonstrates how Socket Mobile products can be used to streamline data collection in a wide range of environments -- even from a rooftop," said Mike Gifford, Executive Vice President at Socket Mobile. "Many field service workers already carry a smartphone, so connecting a Socket barcode scanner provides an easy and highly effective way of eliminating a lot of the manual data entry typically required on the job."

The CHS 7Xi is a high-performance 2D and 1D barcode scanner certified by Apple for iOS devices. Developers can customize applications for the scanner using the SocketScan 10 Software Development Kit. To learn more, please visit the Socket Mobile web site.

Enphase Energy Named World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer

PETALUMA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Economic Forum today announced that Enphase Energy, Inc. ( Enphase Energy, Inc. ) has been recognized as a 2013 Technology Pioneer. Enphase is one of 23 pioneering technology companies recognized this year by the Forum for innovation and leadership in the areas of information technology, telecommunications and new media, life sciences and health, and energy and environment. A full list of the 2013 Technology Pioneers and the annual report can be found at: http://www.weforum.org/techpioneers.

“We’ve seen the rapid adoption of our microinverter technology since we began shipments over four years ago, and it is used today in over 44,000 solar energy systems across the globe. Every system using Enphase generates more clean energy, and therefore greater environmental benefits, for anyone looking to take control of their energy costs and footprint,” said Paul Nahi, CEO of Enphase Energy. “We are truly honored to be recognized for our accomplishments by the World Economic Forum and to join the prestigious ranks of the Technology Pioneers.”

Each year, the World Economic Forum chooses 23-35 new Technology Pioneers from hundreds of applicants. A selection committee, comprised of top technology and innovation experts, academics and venture capitalists, reviews all applications before making its recommendation to the World Economic Forum. Technology Pioneers are chosen based on their innovation, potential impact, growth and sustainability, proof of concept and leadership.

Silvia von Gunten, head of Technology Pioneers at World Economic Forum, commented about this year’s winners, “These companies are more than pioneering the way we use technology; they are transforming how we as a society are growing and interacting with each other. They are also providing new opportunities for people to harness the potential of technology.”

The Enphase® Microinverter System brings a new approach to managing solar power that makes solar systems smarter and more efficient. Each microinverter integrates with advanced networking technology and Enlighten, Enphase’s web-based monitoring software, to allow system owners to visualize their solar array’s clean energy production via the Internet. To date, the Enlighten community has generated over 440 GW hours of solar energy, offsetting over 300,000 tons of CO2. This is equivalent to powering over 41,775 U.S. households and saving 26,354 acres of forest.

Enphase will be honored for its achievements at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2012 in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China from September 11-12.
